Lefkosia, another name for Nicosia, is the split name for Cyprus’s capital. The Cyprus Museum, located on the Greek side of the border, houses artifacts dating from the Neolithic to the Byzantine eras, including the Aphrodite of Soloi statue. The Famagusta, Kyrenia, and Paphos gates are located close to the ancient city’s 16th-century Venetian fortifications. A marble tomb hidden behind the walls is near to the 19th-century Faneromeni Church.
